Directions

Some rules must be followed when using the center for deaf people. It’s not possible to communicate with this center through a conventional telephone unless there is a special central to intermediate the calls.

For the communication to be successful with deaf people it’s necessary to have a special telephone with a screen where messages can be read, besides a keyboard where the messages are typed, similar to a computer. The telephone receiver including public phones needs to be fit into this device and the phone must be off the hook to make the call.

Some models work connected directly with the telephone network, which makes this procedure unnecessary. It’s important to consult the device’s supplier about the limitations and the possibilities of the device.
